Orbyte (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Orbyte platform and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and application.
Information We Collect
Section titled “Information We Collect”Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor - we do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
Media you upload. Photos, videos, and other files you upload are stored securely in your account. We process your media to provide our AI-powered features (face detection, object recognition, scene analysis, duplicate detection) but we do not use your personal media to train machine learning models.
Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with our services, including pages visited, features used, upload and search activity, and device/browser information. This helps us improve the product and diagnose technical issues.
Face data. Orbyte detects and clusters faces in your uploaded media to power the Faces feature. Face data is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties. Face clustering is performed within your account scope (or your Group’s scope, if applicable). You can delete face data at any time by removing the associated media or deleting your account.
How We Use Your Information
Section titled “How We Use Your Information”We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process your uploads and deliver AI-powered organization features
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send service-related communications (account confirmations, security alerts, billing notices)
- Respond to your requests and support inquiries
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded media to train AI models. We do not serve advertisements.
How We Share Your Information
Section titled “How We Share Your Information”We share your information only in limited circumstances:
Within Groups. If you join or create a Group, media you upload to that Group is visible to other Group members. Face clustering within a Group is scoped to that Group’s shared library.
Service providers. We use third-party services for hosting, storage, payment processing, and email delivery. These providers access your information only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business transfers. If Orbyte is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Storage and Security
Section titled “Data Storage and Security”Your media and account data are stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
Section titled “Data Retention”We retain your account information and uploaded media for as long as your account is active. If you delete media, it is removed from our servers within 30 days. If you delete your account, all associated data - including uploaded media, face data, and account information - is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your Rights
Section titled “Your Rights”Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your uploaded media
- Object to certain uses of your information

Children’s Privacy
Section titled “Children’s Privacy”Orbyte is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
Section titled “Changes to This Policy”We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the effective date above. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
