Browsing & Filtering
The Library View
Section titled “The Library View”Your Library is home base in Orbyte. It shows every photo and video you’ve uploaded in a grid layout that’s easy to scan. Whether you have 100 memories or 100,000, the Library gives you tools to find what you want fast.
Grid View
Section titled “Grid View”Browse your media in a visual grid where you can see thumbnails of everything at once. Scroll down to load more, or use the sorting and filtering tools to narrow down the view before scrolling.
Filtering Your Media
Section titled “Filtering Your Media”The filter panel sits on the left side of the Library. You can filter by:
- Date range - Choose a specific month, year, or custom time range
- Media type - See only photos, only videos, or everything mixed together
- Faces - Pick specific people to see only photos and videos they appear in
- Tags - Filter by tags you or Orbyte have assigned
You can combine multiple filters - for example, “videos of Sarah from July 2024” or “photos from last summer that don’t have the beach tag.” The filters work together to show exactly what you’re looking for.
Personal and Group Libraries
Section titled “Personal and Group Libraries”If you’re part of a Group, the Space Switcher in the sidebar lets you flip between your Personal library and any Group library. Your personal library shows just your uploads. A Group library shows the shared collection that everyone in the group can see. The interface stays the same - only the content changes. See Spaces and the Space Switcher for a full walkthrough.
Sorting Options
Section titled “Sorting Options”At the top of your Library, you can sort by:
- Newest first (when files were uploaded)
- Oldest first
- Recently modified
- File size
Pick whichever sorting makes sense for what you’re looking for.
Search
Section titled “Search”The search bar is always visible at the top of the Library. You can search by describing what’s in your photos - “kids at the beach” or “sunset” or “birthday cake.” For more details on how search works, see the Search guide.
