Inviting Members

As a group owner, inviting members is straightforward. Open the group, tap Members, and select Invite. Enter the email address of the person you want to add.

Orbyte sends them an email with a link to join. They’ll see the group waiting for them and can accept the invitation with one tap. No complex setup - just a simple yes or no.

You can send multiple invitations at once. People who haven’t accepted yet appear in a pending list, and you can resend invitations if needed.

When someone receives an invitation to your group, they’ll see a friendly email with:

  • The group name and what it’s for
  • Your name as the person inviting them
  • A simple “Join Group” button

They tap the button, confirm they want to join, and they’re in. If they don’t have an Orbyte account yet, they’ll create one first (takes about two minutes), then join the group. Once they’re in, they can start uploading photos and videos right away.

There are two roles in a group: owner and member.

Owners manage the group - inviting new people, removing members, and deciding when to change the group’s settings. There’s always at least one owner. If you’re the creator, you’re the owner.

Members contribute media to the group and can browse everything inside it. They upload their own photos and videos and see what everyone else has added. Members don’t have access to invite others or change group settings.

Everyone can search, create Capsules, and work with Faces within the group - those features work the same way for both roles.

To see who’s in a group, go to Members. You’ll see a list of everyone who’s accepted their invitation and is active in the group.

If you need to remove someone (maybe someone left a shared trip, or a friend moved on), select their name and choose Remove. They’ll lose access to the group’s library. Their past uploads stay in the group’s history, but they can’t see new content or add anything else.
