Quick Start

Ready to blast off? This quick-start guide shows you everything you need to know in the first few minutes with Orbyte. We’ll walk you through uploading your first batch of photos, exploring your library, and seeing AI-powered organization in action.

By the end of this guide, you’ll understand the basics of Orbyte and be well on your way to building your perfect media home in the clouds.

Head to your library dashboard. You’ll see a big upload area in the center - drag and drop a batch of photos there (5-10 is perfect for seeing the magic happen). Prefer using your phone? Tap the camera icon in the top right and use the QR code to upload directly from your device.

Pick a mix: some with people, some with landscapes, maybe a few candid moments. This variety helps you see everything Orbyte can do.

Once uploaded, your photos head to the processing pipeline. You’ll see a small indicator showing that Orbyte is analyzing your files. This usually takes just a few seconds to a minute depending on how many photos you uploaded.

Behind the scenes, here’s what’s happening: Orbyte analyzes each file for faces and expressions, detects objects and scenes (mountains, beaches, indoor moments), reads any visible text, and checks for duplicates or blurry shots. All of this happens automatically - no buttons to click, no settings to fiddle with. Just let Orbyte do its thing.

Once processing is done, head to the search bar at the top of your library. This is where the “telescope” magic starts. Instead of typing exact filenames or technical tags, search like you think.

Try something like “dog at the park” or “birthday cake” or “sunset by the water” - whatever describes the memory you’re looking for. Orbyte understands natural language, so it finds photos based on what’s actually in them, not just keywords. Search is powerful, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you find exactly what you’re thinking of.

Click on the “Faces” tab in your library sidebar. Orbyte has automatically clustered all the people in your photos - group by group. You’ll see faces organized without you having to tag a single person. Click on any face cluster to see all moments with that person.

Want to name someone? Click the cluster and type their name. Orbyte will remember, and from that point on, it finds them everywhere in your library - past, present, and future uploads.

Capsules are smart albums - they organize your memories by theme, date, or AI-detected context. Click the “Capsules” tab and hit “Create New Capsule.” You can either:

  • Let Orbyte suggest one based on what’s in your library (it might spot a “birthday party” or “road trip” theme automatically)
  • Create one manually with a name you choose - like “Spring 2026” or “Family Moments”

Add photos to your Capsule by selecting them from your library. Share it with family or friends using the share button. Everyone in your Group gets their own organized view.

Congratulations - you’ve just experienced the core of Orbyte. You uploaded photos, watched AI organize them instantly, discovered them through natural search, found faces without lifting a finger, and created your first smart album. No endless folder management. No manual tagging. Just your memories, beautifully organized.
